Position Description:

The Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority, HRRA, is a regional, governmental, solid waste management and recycling authority serving fourteen municipalities in Western Connecticut.

The HRRA is seeking a part-time Project Manager for 30 hours a week.

The project manager would oversee the implementation of three regional food waste recycling (aka organics) pilot projects, in complement with a Unit Base Pricing system, at three HRRA transfer stations.  In addition, they will work with the HRRA Executive Director and team to see that the existing HRRA organics drop-off programs in the region located in Bridgewater, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding and Ridgefield and Wilton gain momentum and success.  The project manager would spend time at local drop-off centers / transfer stations to engage with the public to provide public education and outreach to encourage and grow participation in the programs.  They would be responsible for data analysis to measure the success of each project/town and reporting to the DEEP.  This is a contracted position with the HRRA for a duration of two years.  The position is not guaranteed to become permanent. This position is being paid for by a Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection SMM grant.


Principal Responsibilities:
Schedule and facilitate meetings with each municipal team and DEEP. Organize and implement each project launch. Maintain and track participation.  Oversee and maintain project success.  Work with the HRRA education team to promote and educate participants through social media and print. Maintain project landing pages on HRRA website. 

Performs other related functions as assigned or required by the Executive Director.

Compensation:
Hours for this position: 30 hours per week: $30 per hour. Mileage reimbursement.
