"A black shadow dropped down into the circle. It was Bagheera the Black Panther, inky black all over, but with the panther markings showing up in certain lights like the pattern of watered silk. Everybody knew Bagheera, and nobody cared to cross his path; for he was as cunning as Tabaqui, as bold as the wild buffalo, and as reckless as the wounded elephant. But he had a voice as soft as wild honey dripping from a tree, and a skin softer than down."

Read each paragraph below.

1. Florida is one of the fifty great states in the USA. Located in the southeastern part of the United States of America, Florida is known for its warm climate, its white-sand beaches, its orange orchards, and Disney World. The state is also known across the world for golf, tennis, auto racing, and water sports. Florida's capital city is Tallahassee, but its largest city is Jacksonville. Florida has the longest coastline of any state in the lower 48 states. Florida is a really great state!

2. Ice cream is my favorite dessert. I love hard ice cream and soft ice cream. I love ice cream in a bowl or in a cone. The Cheesecake Factory sells many flavors of cheesecake. I love ice cream plain or topped with sprinkles. No matter what season, I will always choose ice cream for dessert.

3. To avoid stress when preparing for a vacation, it is important to have a plan. You should also have a plan to avoid the stress of buying a new car. Make a packing list a few days before. Finish all of the chores and cleaning around the house. Call the hotel and confirm the reservation. Keep a folder with all tickets and travel plans. With everything organized, preparing for a vacation does not have to be stressful.

4. Turtles are unique and amazing creatures. Maybe what makes these animals so unique is that they can live for many decades, even up to a century! There are three different kinds of turtles: sea turtles, aquatic turtles, and land turtles. Of course, both sea turtles and aquatic turtles live in water, but that doesn't mean they are the same! Sea turtles and aquatic turtles have many similarities, yet each one of these types of turtles is equally fascinating to learn about.

5. Sharpies are so much fun to use. Sharpies come in so many different colors. You can use them for art projects, packing, or even writing a note. You have to be careful, though, because Sharpies are filled with permanent ink. I got some ink on my white dress one time, but my mom got the stain out. Sharpies are a fun and practical writing tool.
