Basic Crime Stoppers Course

The Governor's Texas Crime Stoppers Office invites you to join the Summer Basic Crime Stoppers Course in San Marcos, Texas, hosted by Hays County Crime Stoppers.

This course offers 16 training hours, fulfilling the requirements for organization certification by the Texas Crime Stoppers Council. Additionally, attendees will earn 16 hours of TCOLE and CPE credit.

Important Details:

  • In-person attendance is required to earn training credit from the Office of the Governor.
  • To receive the full 16-hour credit, participants must:
    • Complete all course requirements successfully.
    • Attend all sessions in person.
    • Submit all completed course forms.

Homewood Suites is offering a special rate of $110.00 per night plus tax. Last day to book is Sunday, April 13, 2025. 

 

Travel Stipend:

If needed, a training stipend is available to certified Crime Stoppers organizations to assist with the coordinator, board member, and executive director travel expenses incurred with attending this training. Limit one stipend per certified organization per year. Stipend reimbursement will not exceed $250 per program. Travel expenses must adhere to state rate guidelines with reimbursement occurring after the training.

To receive the stipend, attendees must successfully complete the training course and submit all required training documents provided during the training. Reimbursement request must be submitted within 14 days following the last day of training. REGISTRATION FEE: There is no registration fee for the Basic Crime Stoppers Course.
