Basic Crime Stoppers Course

The Governor's Texas Crime Stoppers Office invites you to attend the spring Basic Crime Stoppers Course to be held in Galveston, Texas, hosted by Galveston County Crime Stoppers.

The Basic Crime Stoppers Course will provide sixteen training hours fulfilling the training requirement for organization certification from the Texas Crime Stoppers Council. It also provides 16-hours towards TCOLE and CPE credit. To receive 16-hours of training credit from the Office of the Governor, in-person attendance is required.

Note: To receive the 16-hour training credit, attendees must successfully complete all course requirements, attend all sessions in person, and return all completed course forms. Organizations must also be current on submitting the Annual Board Information Update Form and Statistical Report(s). (https://gov.texas.gov/organization/crime-stoppers/state-resources)

Travel Stipend:

A training stipend will be provided to Certified Crime Stoppers organizations to assist with coordinator, board member, and executive director travel expenses to attend this Basic Crime Stoppers Course up to $250. To receive the stipend, attendees must successfully complete the training course and submit all required training documents provided during the training. Attendees will receive a reimbursement form to list travel expenses (receipts are required to be submitted with the form). 

Limit one stipend per certified organization per year. Stipend reimbursement will not exceed $250 per program. Travel expenses must adhere to state rate guidelines with reimbursement occurring after the training. REGISTRATION FEE: There is no registration fee for the Basic Crime Stoppers Course.
