Who can rent an armory?

  • Individuals at least 23 years-of-age (CA Driver’s License verification)
  • Commercial entities
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Guard employees or service members
  • No unincorporated associations or groups – only as individuals.

AUHORITY: National Guard Regulation 5-1/ANGI 63-101 provides the authority to rent federally supported Readiness Centers. Pursuant to Army Regulation 405-80, short-term revocable licenses, The IC, USAR, RSC or the USPFO may grant revocable short-term licenses for the regular, occasional or non-recurring use of available land, facilities or space to state or local governments; youth, civic, community, private or non-profit organizations; or off-post individuals in accordance with this regulation. The licenses may be for up to 7 consecutive days or not to exceed 30 non-consecutive days in any 12 month period.

What is included in the rental fee?

Standard rental generally applies to the drill floor, classrooms (if available) latrines, kitchen for food service preparation, (use of stove if available and/or if functional), and on facility and off street parking.

What does it cost to rent an armory?

No Cost: • Official Military Department functions only.
No Cost or Reduced Cost: • Certain specific organizations are authorized reduced or no-cost rentals under (non-profit 501c3 organization); under (32 USC § 508). Guard Authority to Support Certain Youth & Charitable Organizations
Minimum Rate ($25/hr. if less than 4); (If more than 4 hr., daily rate apply of $200 • Official functions of government entities or functions sponsored by the unit (unless waived by the Adjutant General)
• Nonprofit: known to Armory Cmdr. (AC)
• Nonprofit: unknown to AC; Sec. State “Good Standing Cert.”
Standard Rate ($75/hr. if less than 4 hr.): (If more than 4 hr. daily rate apply of $200 • Nonprofit organizations or the general public for private functions.
• Individuals
• Nonprofit: unknown to AC; without corporate status validation
Commercial Rate ($150+/hr.): • Sole proprietors and for-profit corporations
Additional Space Rate: • Additional space such as classrooms or locker rooms may be licensed at a rate of $0.10 per hour per square foot.
$500.00 Cleaning Deposit: • Reimbursable if the facility is kept clean and without property damage.
Supervision Fee $150.00: • Event is considered to be non-incidental to other users during non-duty hours. Duty hours are 0800-1630 Monday-Friday. A supervision fee ($150.00) may apply unless a volunteered Federal Employee is available to open and close the facility and approved by the armory commander.
