 VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

~ How To Volunteer ~   Volunteer Registration:  All volunteers are required to complete a Riverbend Festival Volunteer Registration Form.  Please use one form for each volunteer. Extra forms are available at the Riverbend office, 180 Hamm Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37405, or online at www.riverbendfestival.com, or call (423) 756-2212 to request one.  Volunteering Together:  Volunteers who want to be assigned together should identify their partner(s) on their registration forms and mail, FAX, e-mail or deliver them to the Riverbend office together.  If forms are not received together, they will be held pending receipt of the other form(s), which may result in a second choice assignment.  All efforts will be made to honor requests, but placement cannot be guaranteed.  Minimum Hour Requirements:  In order to schedule the more than 85,000 hours it takes to present Riverbend, volunteers are required to serve at least two (2) five-hour shifts.  Shifts may be worked back to back, but cannot be overlapped.   Scheduling Policy:  Requests will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  However, consideration may be made for experience, availability and specialized functions.  Background Check:  All volunteers handling money or working in the Children’s Village will be subject to a background check. An arrest and conviction record does not automatically disqualify an individual from volunteering.  However, the nature of the offense(s), date(s) of conviction, and any pattern of offenses will be carefully considered in an attempt to protect the Riverbend Festival, its volunteers and guests.  ~ Volunteer Appreciation Package ~ All volunteers serving 10 to 15 hours (2 to 3 shifts) during the festival will receive one volunteer t-shirt, a souvenir pin (given at the appreciation cruise), name badge and a VIP parking pass.  Volunteers will also be provided with free non-alcoholic beverages as well as fruit and a variety of snacks.  Should you be unable to serve your shifts as scheduled, we request that you return your volunteer package to the festival office.  Shirts and pins are ordered based on projections of staffing needs.  Extras are not ordered.   Volunteer Badge & Shirt:  While on duty, you are required to wear your volunteer shirt and badge.  Neither is transferable.  You may not alter the appearance of your volunteer shirt or badge in any way.   Your badge does not grant you access to any backstage or VIP areas.  It does grant you access to the festival without paying, and recognizes you as a working member of the festival.  Volunteers gain entry to the festival by scanning-in the special volunteer slide badge at the volunteer gate, even on nights you are not scheduled to work. Please do not wear the volunteer shirt unless on duty.  Additional Shirts: Those volunteering 25 to 40 hours (5 to 8 shifts) are entitled to a second volunteer shirt (based upon availability).  VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION AND OPEN HOUSE Volunteers are asked to attend one 90-minute orientation session.  Three orientation sessions are scheduled for your convenience.  Please see application for orientation dates and times. Orientation is held in the Notre Dame High School auditorium, which is located at the end of 3rd Street.

Open House will be held on Thursday, prior to opening night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in front of the Coca Cola Stage. The purpose of this dress rehearsal

Open House is to help volunteers familiarize themselves with important sites by giving each volunteer a chance to walk around the festival grounds ahead of time. The volunteer group photo that is posted on the web site will be taken during the Open House on Thursday, prior to opening night at 7:00 PM in Ross’s Landing.
