Results Views
What are Results Views?
Results Views are a way to specify which items should be shown when viewing results. This is useful to hide results for items you are not interested in or to prevent sensitive information from appearing in shared or emailed results. You can create and maintain Results Views by using the "Results->Results Views" menu option.
Results Views can be applied to results in the following areas:
- Emails
- Summary Table
- Item Summary Report
- Printable Report
- Public Results
- Results Links (from Publish page)
- Results Receipt
- Downloads
There is no limit to the number of Results Views you can create or use.
Create a New Results View
On the Results Views page, click the "New" button and enter a unique name in the "View Name" field. A list containing each item on your form is shown in the "View Configuration" box. Check/uncheck the box next to each item to control whether its results will be visible in this View. When you are finished, click the "Save" button.
Edit or Delete an Existing Results View
On the Results Views page, use the "View" selector on the left to select a View. Modify any settings. When you are finished, click the "Save" button. To delete the View, click the "Delete" button. You can disable a View without deleting it by setting "Enabled" to "No".
Results Views Examples
A common use of Results Views is to hide sensitive information. For example, suppose you have a form that collects a user's name and social security number. You set your form to email its results so that you know which users have filled it out, but you do not want the email to include the user's social security number, for privacy reasons. To do this, go to the Results Views page and create a View. Uncheck the box next to the social security question. Save the View and go to your form's Configure page. Change the "Email View" setting to use the View you created.
Another common use of Results Views is to give different people access to different results. For example, your billing department may need access to items relating to billing information, whereas your fulfillment department may need access to items relating to products that were ordered. The product information is of no use to the billing department, and the billing information is of no use (and likely a privacy issue) to the fulfillment department. To do this, create a View for each situation. Then, on your form's Configure page, enter a password in the "Results Password" field to enable this feature. Next, use the "Results->Publish" menu option to get to the Publish page. Select your first View and copy the "Results Password" link; give this link to your billing department. Select your second View and copy the "Results Password" link; give this link to your fulfillment department.
Additional Information
Results Views are form specific, there is no way to use a View with a form other than the one it was created for. When you copy a form, any Results Views it has will also be copied.
When you add an item to your form, it will be added as enabled for any existing Results Views.
