2012 Kansas FFA Convention Registration

The 2012 Kansas FFA Convention happens on Kansas State University Campus May 29 - June 1.

Please complete the form below to provide convention staff with the necessary information to process your registration and help to make your convention experience possible.

What to know before you begin registration:
- Chapter Registration = $125. ($25 Late fee after May 4)
- Chaperones who will be attending convention with your chapter
- Delegate names, their e-mail addresses and committee preference
- Parking permits needed (note: parking garage available this year)
- Number of dance tickets **Dance dress code, check Thursday Thoughts**
- Number of tickets for the Alumni HypnotistShow
- Proficiency and Stars Luncheon guests

Online registration will close May 21.
Note that no meals (Delegate luncheon, Proficiency luncheon, or stars luncheon) can be guaranteed after May 21.

Descriptions of Delegate Committees

Committee 1: Shocking Statistics – Facts and figures of the Kansas FFA.

Focuses on encouraging male leadership, reaching out to the urban population, and growing diversity. Includes discussion on where we are, where we want to be, and how we can get there.

Committee 2: Supporting the advisor to encourage chapter growth - How can you help advisors learn the old and embrace the new?

Focuses on resources that can be made available and the students’ roles in involving the ag teacher on the chapter leadership team.

Committee 3: Growing Leaders – Encouraging members to step up and serve.

Focuses on implementing programs such as junior offices, committee chairmen, CDE leadership, and chapter leadership training.

Committee 4: Advisors: The Next Generation – Have you ever thought of who will be your chapter’s next advisor?

Encouraging students to become ag teachers. Addresses the shortage of ag teachers in 48 of the 50 states. Includes discussion on identifying members with strengths relating to a career in ag education and encouraging them to pursue a career in the profession.

Committee 5: Seamless Communication – Spreading the message from the national level to the local chapters. 

Includes discussion on the use of social media, web presence, mail, and e-mail to help improve communication.

Committee 6: Diversity in Agriculture Careers – What careers are there and how do we educate students about these careers?

Focuses on what we can do within the classroom to encourage agricultural career paths and apply ag skills to potential non-traditional ag jobs.

Committee 7: Innovative Service Activities – Thinking beyond the typical.

Includes discussion on less traditional service activities, especially new ideas, and how we can implement those in our chapters and communities.

Committee 8: Reinventing SAEs– Supervised Agricultural Experience programs of the 21st century.

Focuses on encouraging members to embrace the diversity in SAE programs and begin a program that suits their interests. Includes discussion on how chapters can encourage SAE participation.


Specific names of delegates are required. Information about the delegate process and committee options and assignments will be distributed exclusively by email. All chapters must include email contacts for their delegates to insure their involvement in the delegate process.

Tickets and Parking Passes

Note: the parking garage is available for vehicles to park in. Daily/Hourly ($1.50/hr) rates will apply. If you choose to park in the parking garage, permits are not required. Payment for the garage is collected when exiting. If you choose to park on campus, permits are required.

Please indicate in the box on the left the number of each item you need.  Then, select the item you need in the drop down box on the left.  ALL PARKING PASSES ARE PER VEHICLE. Parking passes for registrations not completed by May 15 will not be mailed this year and ONLY available at registration. Under NO circumstances will we be replacing a parking permit for free. If we have a record of mailing you one and you show up without it you will have to purchase another pass.
State Officer Candidates wishing to park on campus during business hours will also need a parking permit.  If candidates are currently a K-State student with a parking permit from the previous school year, they may park on campus during business hours.

All registrations received before May 15 will have the parking passes mailed to the schools, unless requested otherwise below. If you would rather pick up your parking passes at the registration table at Convention, we would be more than happy to hold onto it for you but please make sure and check the corresponding box. PARKING PASSES WILL NOT BE REPLACED IF YOU DO NOT BRING THEM TO CONVENTION. Any vehicle being parking on K-State campus must have a permit, except for school buses and vehicles parked in the garage.

Parents
attending campus only for the State FFA Degree ceremony must pick up a parking pass at Parking Services in the K-State Parking Garage or order them through the chapter. Remember, you may park in the garage, in the West Stadium lot or in lots A2 or A1, east of McCain. Buses should park on the very west end of the stadium lot, or in the Weber parking lot. 

Parking tickets for vehicles without parking passes is $50.

Convention Meal Functions

No meals can be guaranteed if registration received after May 21. (This inlcudes delegate luncheons.)
